Merry Christmas

You Are Christmas

By Warren Meyer

You are Christmas-every time you smile and help to make the world a brighter place.

You are Christmas-every time you laugh and let the sound join with all the happy music of the world.

You are Christmas-every time you speak a word of faith to some fearful soul along an unpaved road.

You are Christmas-every time you pray a prayer for those who need your very special blessings.

You are Christmas-every time your loving hand goes out of the way to give that extra special service.

Weekly Wisdom/Thoughts on Truth

"Let the nations be glad and sing for joy."
(Psalm 67:4)

"In the silence we get the wonderful inward joy that is of God."
(Myrtle Fillmore)

It is now time for us to begin our final week of Advent. The theme for this week is joy.

For centuries the world has been joyfully commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. Once again we are given the opportunity to give thanks for the love, joy, and wisdom that He brought us.

Let us go back for just a moment in time and think of how it was before Jesus was born.

The Old Testament reveals that the Israelites were often anxious and afraid. They were treated cruelly by many of their neighbors. Joy often eluded the Israelites, except in their belief that someday the Promised One would arrive.

The birth of Jesus changed everything for those who believed in Him. Anxiety was replaced by joy, beginning with the shepherds who came from the fields to see this wondrous child. Imagine the joy they felt standing in the presence of pure love!

Jesus brought to this world an awareness of the indwelling Spirit. This loving Spirit brings joy to our lives whenever we take the time to awaken to it. There is no human joy or love as great as this! Unity/The Promise of Christmas

Weekly Wisdom/Thoughts on Truth

"You are the light of the world."
(Matthew 5:14)

Christmas is yet another week closer. Throughout our Advent journey, love has illumined us and all those around us. Because this week's theme has been love, we have been particularly conscious of the joy that comes from loving one another.

To commemorate the end of the third Advent week, take time to remember dear ones-not only those who are living, but also those who have moved on to a new experience in their immortal journey. Send a special blessing, and know that your love is reaching out to touch each one in a very special way.

You may wish to use the "Prayer for Protection" as part of your blessing.

The light of God surrounds you;
The love of God enfolds you;
The power of God protects you;
The presence of God watches over you.
Wherever you are, God is!

Perhaps you would like to extend your blessings beyond the limits of those you already know and bless everyone in the world. In this way, you are united in spirit with millions of people.

Everyone is part of the triumphant "All" of which God is the heart. No one is left out: "For we are members one of another."

Today, renewed in spirit and filled with thoughts of love, declare your oneness in spirit with all of God's creation: "You are the light of the world." Unity/The Promise of Christmas

Weekly Wisdom / Thoughts on Truth

"God is our refuge and strength"
(Psalm 46:1)

Have you heard the saying that the best gift often comes in the most unlikely package?

The Christmas season can be like that. At one time or another, each of us is likely to become so busy, stressed, burdened, or exhausted that "heavenly peace" is more fairy tale than reality.

When this happens, remember and affirm the truth: God is my help in every need.

If your need is peace, take time to relax. Breathe deeply.  Still your mind and body. God, the source of peace, is within you. Relax, let go, and accept God's peace. Feel it everywhere in your being.  Now rest in your unity with God.

If decisions are weighing on you, give them to God. In an attitude of surrender, go within and say: "God, I need Your wise, loving help. I need Your peace. I now let go and let You direct me. I trust You to open a perfect, peaceful way for me. Thank You, God.

God, who is present in every challenge, can turn the pressure of Christmas into the peace of Christmas. Just open your heart, turn within, and trust. Unity/Journey To Greatness

Weekly Wisdom/Thoughts on Truth

December 1, 2016

"And you will have confidence because there is hope."
(Job 11:18)

"Everything that is done in the world is done by hope."
(Martin Luther)

In 1897, with hope in her heart, a little girl wrote to the editor of The New York Sun to find out if there really was a Santa Claus. Here, in part, is the answer that she received:

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! How dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! ... There would be no childlike faith then ... The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.... Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see."

How true this is! For isn't Santa Claus a symbol of God's love in action and isn't Christmas a wonderful opportunity for that love to be expressed by all?

With the same faith as Virginia, let each of us renew his or her faith in God's love and remember that there is a Santa Claus! Unity/The Promise of Christmas
